Lars Ulrich defends reviled album

Metallica album "St. Anger 'from 2003 but the group's fans was not happy and now explains the group's Danish drummer Lars Ulrich, what lay behind the maligned notes:

- I see 'St. Anger 'as an isolated experiment. People must remember that I am the biggest Metallica fan of them all. We have been known to move boundaries and it is necessary sometimes. Metallica had already recorded 'Ride The Lightning', which I deem to be an excellent album. There was no reason to do a remake, says Lars Ulrich said in an interview with Classic Rock Magazine.

'St. Anger 'was particularly criticized for the interminable numbers. According to Lars Ulrich was quite conscious that they were longer than usual:

- When we heard the album from start to end, it felt almost like getting beaten. It was almost about to mistreat listeners and challenge our fans. So we decided to let the songs be as they were - completely unedited, explains the Danish star, although sympathetic to the criticism:

- I can understand why people thought that the numbers were too long, he announces.
