Danish singer Agnes Obel conquers France

Danish singer Agnes Obel, who won the prestigious talent prize at the P3 Gold awards in 2011, is not only big in her home country. Shortly after her debut album Philharmonics came out, the German media met her with rave reviews, and now the time has come for the French to fall for the soft, soothing music of the young Dane. Philharmonics have sold more than 100.000 copies in France (almost twice as much as in her home country), which secures Obel platinum.

Throughout the world, the album has sold more than 220.000 copies, and is on the album top 10 in both Belgium and the Netherlands. In other words, Obel's got Europe down - now people are just waiting for her to go across the pond.
