Danish trio Tiger Baby on The Real L Word

(gaffa)

The reality show The Real L Word is based on the tv-show The L Word, which is basically a show following lesbians in L.A.. This will happen to the sound of among others the Danish synthpop trio Tiger Baby, who are looking at getting more music promoted through the show.

Behind the show is the American production company Showtime, whose producers work on hit shows Dexter, Weeds, Californication and Nurse Jackie as well. In the search for good music for their shows, the producers have stumbled upon Tiger Baby, who have gotten so popular amongst the producers that several of their songs will appear in the 2nd season of The Real L Word, which just premiered in the US.

Tiger Baby was created in 1999 after Benjamin Teglbjærg and Nikolaj Tarp Gregersen left the indie group Polytone. The tracks used in the The Real L Word are “Sweetheart”, which has been called “inevitable” by Danish radio, and “Girlfriend”. The songs are singles from the group’s previous album “Lost in You” from 2004 and “Noise Around Me” from 2006 respectively.

It is said, however, that Showtime’s producers now want the rights to more of the group’s music for their soundtrack. Until then, “Sweetheart” will be available on the Showtime homepage.

On August 29th, the third Tiger Baby album named “Open Windows Open Hills” is released, and the band’s newest single from this album “Crystal Ball” is available in stores now.
