Danish DJ makes music for the international artists

He may be one of the few boasts to have collaborated with Pitbull, Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. But cooperation with the big stars have not been entirely easy

30-year-old Alexander Brown's career may be said to have gained momentum since his less than three years ago 'pushed to the roof' with Danish Yepha and Morten Hampenberg. This success has been founded by his studio and record label, Cutbrook that began in his hometown in 2007 and later moved to Copenhagen.

- I've always had an ambition to become the largest. And my goal is also to go all the way and get to the top overseas, says Alexander Brown,

That is exactly what the Danish DJ tries to now after having been successful in partnering with some of the biggest artists on the American music scene. Although it has taken nearly half a year to get some of the agreements in house, which according to him a special reason why it has managed to penetrate the giant country's concrete walls.

- Americans are crazy Scandinavian tones. It is exotic to them, and they have never heard anything resembling it. I'm sure that's why the big names want to make music with me, says Alexander Brown.

Bad Pitbull change the lyric

In 2009, his career in earnest with the monster hit 'Move to the roof', he did together with Morten Hampenberg and Yepha. Then came a deal with one of the hottest names right now, Pitbull, about making an English version of just 'push to the roof. " 'Raise the Roof' has just been released in the U.S. and are moving forward on the world charts.

Since Pitbull initially would give its attempt to deliver a text to 'Raise the Roof', was, according to DJ himself, shaking his head miserably.

- But how do you say just to so great a name, it is absolutely terrible? It was hard, but it succeeded. He took it cool and delivered a much better result, says Alexander Brown.

Busta Rhymes was the next big name who said yes to working with the Danish DJ. But it was a rapper who was heavy to dance with.

Would prefer to celebrate

- Why sit in and hang out in the lobby?, Said the giant, dark man in leather, bling and a watch the size of a fist.

After waiting for 14 hours and rented the largest studio in Stavanger - quite unsuccessfully - were the first words that greeted Alexander Brown at a hotel in the Norwegian city when he finally met with Busta Rhymes.

- He really knows how to make himself great and is a bit of a diva. We were annoyed at having waited. But again, it was Busta says Alexander Brown.

Subsequently, the Danish DJ also make a video for the single. This should take place in New York. Here was Alexander Brown agreed with Busta to meet and record video. But shortly after Brown and his crew landed, there came a message that the rapper could not attend anyway.

- He had been at a party in Miama and gad not record video. We were extremely frustrated, but ran hard and finally managed to get him to New York, says Alexander Brown.

The entire project cost Busta Brown and his record company almost 1 million kroner, which was 20,000 euros over the original budget.

Quality of celebrity factor

Lately it Lil Wayne, who wants to make music with the exotic DJ. But for Alexander Brown, it's not just about making music with such famous people as possible.

- It must still possess the quality and edge. So it does not matter whether they are known or unknown. The Americans, I have worked with are all someone who possesses the qualities I seek, says the DJ.

Currently, Alexander Brown live with his first solo single 'Closer' and to december released single with Busta Rhymes, is an English version of his and Morten Hampen's 'The Right Sticks Of'. Should it be a big hit, there is nothing that can stop the DJ.

- So, considering I have to pull up stakes and move more with my son, Mike. Not forever but for awhile, he says.
